Phoenix - November 4-11, 2011

Our friends Cheryl & John met us in Phoenix for some fun times! Despite the chilly weather, we golfed x3, visited Frank Lloyd Wright's home/school in the desert (Taliesin), visited the Arboretum and also the Wrigley Mansion. John made us some wonderful dinners, we ate out some too, and then played some rousing games of Canasta every night! Alas, Cheryl & John went back to Chicago on Wednesday so on Thursday we golfed with Dan and Liz from our card group who just bought a new condo in Phoenix. Fun week! Jacket weather...taken on the grounds of our condo
Lovely pool but too cold to use
A little mending needed
Weather perfect for golf
View from the Rustler's Rooste where we had dinner
And free cotton candy for dessert
Today we took a 90-minute tour of Taliesin West
Views from the property overlook Phoenix
Then we headed to the Arboretum...just amazing Cacti!
These are the very dangerous Teddy Bear Cholla
Look closely for the humming bird
Coupla girls who've been friends since kindergarten
John and Gary cooking up a storm
Loved the red carts at this golf course
Check out that technique!
We visited the Wrigley Mansion today and had a nice lunch before Cheryl and John headed for the airport :(
